This incredible treatment consists of three elements:

  • Castor oil cleanse and lymphatic massage

  • Marma point treatment

  • Jojoba oil kansa wand massage

The lymphatic system is the most powerful system in our body and is incredibly important from an Ayurvedic perspective. It is part of our immune system and has many functions like maintaining fluid levels in our bodies and removing waste and toxins from our tissues. Lymphatic massage on the face is light and gentle and improves circulation, oxygenation and clearance of toxins from the face and sense organs.

Marma are vital energy points that are present throughout the body, connecting a network of subtle energy channels known as Nadis. In Ayurvedic medicine it is understood that our lifestyle, emotional and physical stresses can lead to energetic imbalance, and/or blocks. The facial Marma points are massaged to improve the flow of energy through the Nadis and rejuvenate the skin. Each point correlates with a particular physical and mental aspect of mind and body and, when energy flows through them it creates greater harmony and balance in lymphatic, nervous, and circulatory systems.
Gentle Marma point stimulation helps improve microcirculation to dissolve tension held in the facial muscles and is deeply relaxing for the whole body-mind. It can also offer relief from insomnia, neuralgia, eye strain, sinus congestion, tension headaches and tension in the jaw.

A Kansa wand is also used on the face. The tip of the wand is made from 99.9% pure bronze which includes copper, tin and a trace of zinc. Gentle friction to the facial muscles during massage helps to draw excess acid and toxicity from the skin. The subtle electrical conductivity of the bronze improves the natural electrical balance in the body. This, together with the soothing and calming feel of the wand, helps to enhance overall well being.

As it is believed that the Nadis relay energetic information between the mind, body and chakras, an Ayurvedic face massage has the potential to go beyond the skin to penetrate the body-mind at subtle, yet deeper levels.
