Finding your breath after Covid

Lingering symptoms are common after COVID, and other respiratory infections like colds, flus and chest infections:

*Shortness of breath

*Reduced exercise tolerance

*Persistent or recurring cough

*Tightness in the chest, upper back or neck

*Sore lungs

*Back pain

*Lethargy

*Fatigue

*Depleted immunity

Each of these can hang around your body after viral infections & significantly impact quality of life & the ability to do the things you love to do.

We only use around 1/3 of our lung capacity in day-to-day breath and activities. Finding & accessing the rest does take practice - particularly in the pesky right middle lobe as it hides away from a direct path of inhalation.

Moving your body in multi-directional ways facilitates fascial glide to keep all of these structures & spaces open & accessible. The same can be achieved with guided breath practice & directed myofascial body work

TESTIMONIAL

“After being at home with covid for 2 weeks and still not feeling well enough to return to work, I was having trouble breathing into my right lung which was painful, making me cough and also contributing the fatigue from the virus.

I gave Jane a call knowing she would be able to do something to help me. A short session of yoga therapy was all I could manage but the bodywork gave me great relief and allowed me to breath more into the right lung. With some at home exercises over the next 2 days I continued to improve and started to feel like I had more energy and stayed awake during the day instead of sleeping most of it which I had been.

If you’re struggling to return to work/activity or have some on going residual symptoms from covid or the flu get in touch with her to see if she can help.

Yoga therapy can help

A respiratory infection like covid can really knock energy levels and recovery, draining your immune system & ability to clear lymphatics.

Yoga therapy uses a combination of myofascial bodywork, diaphragmatic release, breath practice & restorative yoga movement or postures to help you find a fuller sense of your lungs to breathe with ease.

If you're sick of feeling sick - we can help get you moving
