Hañsa therapy in movement - spiral dynamics workshop
MoveWell are hosting & co-teaching 2 weekend workshops to explore Hañsa therapeutic flow as a yoga-based movement practice that is underpinned by functional movement patterns.
How you move is an expression of who you are…
The way we move in Hañsa therapeutic flow is…
‘designed to support optimal movement, performance and postural function with greater ease’
Eastern (yoga & ayurveda) & Western (biomechanical, scientific) thinking inform the practice by deconstructing ‘traditional’ yoga asana (shapes), vinyasa (transition, or flow), pramayama (breath patterns), and meditation (awareness & focus) to reveal the essence of yoga as a human movement form.
The experience of practicing Hañsa therapeutic flow and understanding the biomechanical rhythms within movement creates opportunities to explore functionality, integration and balance in the way we move.
Our first workshop - Spiral dynamics - is on 25 & 26 July at MoveWell, Christchurch
During the weekend (10 am - 5.30 pm, Saturday & Sunday) you can expect to:
Experience the functional benefits of Hañsa yoga as a movement form with guided practice
Explore the rationale underpinning spiral dynamics in flow sequencing to deepen understanding of this biomechanical rhythm & functional pattern
Discuss the relevance and appropriateness of movements to investigate & adapt the yoga model to suit individual function on physical, mental and energetic levels
Discover personal movement habits in a way that increases awareness, attention and exploration in your future practice
Embody therapeutic flow sequencing in self-practice as a foundation for your own movement practice and, if relevant, teaching others (it is not necessary to be a yoga teacher to attend)
Workshops are suitable for yoga or movement practitioners, teachers or students with an interest in functional movement patterns, creative sequencing and easeful expression of self.
