Spring into action - September newsletter

Time seems to be flying buy, so the first sight of newborn lambs last weekend was a surprise reminder that spring is just about here. The epitomy of springiness - bouncy, playful lambs are such a joy to watch as they energetically yield and rebound their way around the fresh green grass. Yield and rebound are key components of functional and efficient movement that help us to exercise choice and adaptability as we navigate changeable terrain and energy levels. They are key concepts in each of our yoga classes and the rehabilitative practices we offer as ongoing self-care following massage, yoga therapy and chiropractic treatments. They also feature in iRest yoga nidra therapy for anxiety, stress and trauma recovery as we learn to yeild to what is happening and use inner resource to experience and acknowledge the messages that sensations represent.

Most of you will know that most of us finally succumbed to covid last month! Despite our best efforts we experienced varying levels and duration of illness and fatigue. We're also each working with clients with long covid symptoms.

Any respiratory infection can really knock energy levels, but pesky viruses like covid and flu can hang around, and limit our ability to breathe in ways that access the entire lung fields and diaphragm. This persistent cycle feeds into fatigue and depletes immunity, making it harder to shift the bugs and get back to normal.

Yoga therapy can help free the breath using myofascial bodywork, making it easier to then access simple breathwork that can restore energy and vatality to help you get well. If you’re sick of feeling sick, read about Ush's expereince in our blog

MOVE well, BREATHE well and BE well with yoga therapy
